Newborn sessions are usually done within the first 14 days of the baby’s life to ensure they are sleepy and will easily go into those little tucked poses. This can be hard to do for some families who are just settling into life with a newborn. During this stage of my life I was exhausted, emotional and kind of a wreck. That was not at all the case with the family of this recent newborn shoot. The parents were calm and patient with the process. Dad read books to big brother while mom nursed the baby. During the shoot, they were encouraging as big brother approached his new baby sister. Watching this family gave me such joy and I love the images we captured!
One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to meet new families step into their world for a short time. I get to watch their family dynamic and capture moments to freeze in time. This family was a joy to work with. The girls were over the moon to welcome their baby brother. They each wanted a turn to cuddle him for a photo, so much love and joy was captured in these precious moments. On newborn sessions, I strive to catch a variety of family pictures sibling shots and solo photos of the baby in those sweet little sleepy poses. Here are the pictures we took!
I have had the privilege of photographing this beautiful family since they were pregnant with their first child. Fast forward a few years and along came #2! Watching big brother with his sister was a real treat. He had such a gentle touch and it was really sweet to witness. Once again I loved working with them and I adore the photos we captured!
Sweet baby Dylan was tiny and precious on her newborn photo shoot. She initially fought falling asleep but eventually dozed off and we took some amazing photos. Her mom had darling props to incorporate into the shoot making for some amazing photos. Here are my favorite pictures of this darling little girl:
Miss Parker was a sweet newborn baby girl I had the pleasure of photographing. I always enjoy hearing about women’s experiences with labor and delivery and really enjoyed getting to know this kind mama. Parker had a wonderful temperament and made for a really enjoyable shoot. I am always excited when parents have personal items to incorporate into the newborn photo session. These awesome parents had some really fun and unique props that made for some really sweet photos with a personal touch. This little guy took a little while to fall asleep but once he was out we got some darling pictures. Here are my favorite photos of this loving threesome:
Newborn baby Quinn was as sweet as could be at his newborn photo shoot. With the exception of a couple feedings he was sleepy and cuddly and simply precious. His parents had a handful of personal items to incorporate into the shoot. The monkey was my absolute favorite and I adore the photos we took! Here are my favorites from the day:
My nephew Luca was born 12 days late and ended up born in July, zodiac sign cancer. So naturally we had a perfect hat waiting, just in case. Big brother Beckett was thrilled to welcome his baby bro and was all smiles as he held Luca. Here are my favorite photos taken of my sister and brother-in-law’s family:
A few months ago I photographed this gorgeous family in their new home with their brand new bundle of joy. He was really tiny and so sweet and the parents were so overjoyed and in love.
