Raise your hand if you have been bored during this quarantine at home. Yes, my hand is very high in the air. My kids and husband have too. It is not necessarily a bad thing. This time has taught all of us to come up with creative ways to keep busy. Use our imaginations. It has re-taught me how to slow down, something I have not done since having kids. There have been tears and emotions, schoolwork (which is not a favorite part of the day around here) and lots of downtime. Here is another week of the good and bad. We remain healthy so all is good for now at Casa Block.
The holidays are on the horizon…are you ready?
The holidays are a wonderful time filled with family, love, special events and parties, gifts, and celebration. But they can also be a stressful time for people getting ready- shopping, calendars filled with commitments, and so much more piled onto our already busy lives. Then there are holiday cards…do you send them out? For those who do this can be a daunting yet rewarding task. As much of a pain it is to take the photo, order/stamp/address and send the cards. But as much of a time consuming process as it is, it is so nice to receive them in the mail every year. I love seeing families and how the kids have grown. It is one of the only forms of mail that I really look forward to receiving anymore! I put them out in our home and the kids talk about them and look forward to adding new ones to the wall each day. It is a really nice tradition and is one that I hope never dies.
Below is a family session that I captured last year for the holidays. This was a weekday mini session done at a local park. I love the colors of the environment with the morning light combined with the light tones they are wearing. If you are interested in booking a session, please email me and we can find the right kind of session for your needs!
Anyone who has a toddler and a baby knows it is an energetic, busy time in life. I have been photographing this precious family since their daughter was born and I have loved watching her grow! At this stage we let her guide the shoot from portraits to play to capture a range of images and capture this fun time in their lives. I absolutely love the action shots and photos that are true to toddler-hood. Here are my selects from this at-home family photography session.
