I met this darling family at their home to capture photos of their sweet little boys. The primary focus was on the baby to get some sweet new photos of him alone. We also captured a couple with mom and big brother, just because they were too cute to pass up! The baby was about 2 1/2 months old when we did pictures, so we captured a mix of sleepy baby photos and awake. There are so many wonderful ages to capture in the baby days, this was great because he was still so new but we were able to see some personality shine through! And that little tux onesie was just the cutest thing ever!!!
Pink, green, blue and neutrals are the tones of the amazing and super soft collection by Paige Lauren Los Angeles. We shot many adorable outfits on lots of precious babies and toddlers to create a colorful and sweet collection of images for promoting their newest line. If you have not had a chance to check out their kids clothing, I highly recommend it. The items are SO soft and stylish and I have been really lucky to work with Paige over the last several years. Here are a handful of favorites from our session!
How to dress for a family photography session is very personal and should speak to your unique style. While it is nice to coordinate and not clash, I do not like to dictate what to wear. Sometimes families dress in casual attire, while other times they get dressed up. These photos are ultimately yours to treasure, so I want my clients to dress as a reflection of who they are and what they love. Clothing can give confidence, comfort and style, all wonderful additions to family pictures. This family dressed so beautifully for their photo shoot, I absolutely love the color palate and sharp style they conveyed. I love even more that they were open to running around and playing even when dressed to the nines. To me, that is something special. Here are the magical photos we captured in this dressy yet playful session!
People often ask me what time of day is the best for photography. My feeling is that is varies throughout the time of year. In the late fall/winter, I am completely comfortable shooting any time of the day because the sun never goes directly overhead. The days are shorter and so a mid-afternoon session is required to have enough light. In the late spring/summer months the mid-day light is quite harsh and undesirable. In that case I would suggest early morning or later afternoon light. The closer you get to sunrise or sunset, the more magical and soft the lighting becomes. This session was done later in the day close to sunset which gave us a really beautiful light quality. I love the photos we took and here are my selects.
These gorgeous sisters were so much fun to capture at our last photo shoot. They were playful and energetic and had a love and bond that was magical to watch. We did the shoot at their home and the girls started out with portraits and ended with play. Although this was a mini shoot, there were tons of photos I loved and editing down was a challenge! Here are my favorite shots of these sweet sisters:
