Extended Family Photo Session

It is fun when families want to do a big family photo shoot to capture the different dynamics within their group. This family did photos to celebrate their patriarch’s 90th birthday. We captured the whole group, great grandchildren with great grandpa, cousins, siblings, individual families, couples, and many other variations. We did the session at one of the family homes. It is a special way to get lots of photos to have and enjoy for years to come. Here are just a handful of the photos we captured to celebrate a beautiful loving family.

Toddler Days

Toddlers are so much fun to capture! They are filled with energy for days, a range of expressions and emotions, laughter, tears and everything in-between. These moments are raw and real and I love watching toddlers in action. Mom and Dad wanted photos with their energetic dog too, which made the shoot even more playful. It was fun capturing everyday moments shared in this family that will forever remind them of this time in their lives!

Something new and different!

I recently met a family at their home for a family photo session. We did a few pictures at their place then took a little walk to a nearby place they love to hang as a family. It was a new location for me which made it really fun to visit. As a family they go there to run around, walk the dog and spend time. A location that is special to a family makes the photos even more personal and unique. I loved what we captured, here are a few faves:

Boys & boards

It was a beautiful afternoon when we captured the love and sweet moments of this gorgeous family in this beautiful setting. Holmby Park is a go-to location for me as it is central to many of the families I work with and has such a nice variety of greenery and “looks”. The addition of the skateboards was a great and personal touch. There were many sweet moments with the boys and the family, a mix of candids and portraits. Busy busy

Anyone who has a toddler and a baby knows it is an energetic, busy time in life. I have been photographing this precious family since their daughter was born and I have loved watching her grow! At this stage we let her guide the shoot from portraits to play to capture a range of images and capture this fun time in their lives. Love & Laughter

I am posting this holiday mini session so you can see how much can be accomplished in a short session. The way mini sessions work is that I select various locations around Los Angeles and family sign up for a 30 minute window. We move around the location and capture of variety of photos. I like to shoot a mix of portraits and candid moments. We did these photos at La Brea Tar Pits, a beautiful park in Los Angeles. This was my first session with this amazing family and I really love the pictures we captured.

We are FAMILY

This extended family session was done on a perfect afternoon at the perfect time of day. It was crisp, clear and beautiful. This family was together for the holidays and they wanted to capture this time together, cousins, grandparents, siblings, and individual families. Magic Hour Beach Session

We started this family mini session bright and early to catch the most magical light and capture these little cuties when they were fresh. I have really enjoyed watching these children grow up through several sessions we have done together. Fabulous Five
