In my twenties, back when I started my photography business, I started out photographing musicians and celebrities. It was something I really enjoyed pursuing and met a lot of incredibly talented people along the way. I recently reconnected with one of the musicians from my past and had an amazing shoot. Patrick Joseph is an incredibly talented artist with whom I have had the pleasure of working with twice. I highly recommend checking out his music. Our first shoot was many years ago and we took pictures at Union Station and around downtown LA and then went to a state park in Topanga Canyon for a totally different vibe. This time we used a really cool vintage recording studio in Hollywood called Boulevard Recording. We then hit the streets of Hollywood for something with texture and edge. It was a really great shoot and a fun way to step back and revisit where my passion for photography began. So much has changed in my style but it was a really nice reminder that I still have a bit of rock n roll still in my heart. Here are some of my favorite photos from our shoot:
Lollipop Ladies!
I have had the pleasure of photographing these sweet sisters several times and I adore these little ladies. It was a girls only kind of shoot and we used several props to make for some unique photos (and to keep the girls smiling of course!) So many favorites, it was hard to choose. Here are my selects:
Awaiting baby Lola
This is an extra special post because my youngest sister and her husband are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their first child, a little girl. It is hard to imagine my baby sister having a baby of her own but I couldn’t be more thrilled for them and know they will be awesome parents. A couple weeks ago our family took a trip to Ojai, which was the perfect setting for her maternity photos. Green, lush and captivating, I was inspired at new heights and I am in love with the photos we took. Five more weeks until my niece is due!
Let’s Celebrate!
It was so fun to photograph my great friend and her beautiful family in San Diego. Not only was the shoot to document her little girl’s second birthday, but she and her husband were getting ready to celebrate their 10 year wedding anniversary. To capture this special time, we started at their home and then drove to the site of their wedding so they could show their children where they were married. So many happy pictures captured, here are just a few:
Dance, play and be merry.
When I photographed sweet sisters Olivia and Harper, they had a wonderful and captivating energy. When they started to dance, my heart melted instantly. I have had the pleasure of photographing these beautiful souls many times through their lives and each time is an absolute pleasure. Here are the photos I took of this dynamic duo:
Paige Lauren fashion kids clothing
Last year I was approached to photograph Paige Lauren Baby clothing, a unique baby clothing line that is based in Los Angeles. It was such an honor to be selected and the images are some of my favorite to date. If you have not heard of this company, you MUST check it out. The clothes are so soft and the color palate is amazing. Here are some photos from the Desert Collection.
Finally back to blogging!
I used to be so good about blogging but since going back to work almost 9 months ago I have not been able to carve out the time to post. So I will try to catch up on all the shoots I have done. The first post was my first shoot when I went back to work last summer. Everything about the shoot was wonderful from the family to their stunning home, the lighting and of course the photos turned out just as I had hoped. Here are some photos that I absolutely adore!
happy 1st birthday to miss morgan.
Miss Morgan is a darling baby that I photographed when she was just a baby many months ago. She has gotten so big and was a very smiley baby as we did her portraits. I love cake smash photo shoots because it is really fun to see the babies eat sugar for the first time. Morgan was crazy about balloons and really loved playing with them. At one point, she wanted to play with the balloons and eat cake simultaneously…too cute! We took lots of cake smash photos and got a variety of expressions and then ended the shoot with a bath. Today is Morgan’s birthday, wishing you a sweet year and many more.

two peas in a pod!
This big sister little brother duo were a darling pair. Big sister Alex was great when she held her newborn baby brother Ryan for their portraits. We did mostly pictures of baby Ryan, starting with awake shots and then he fell asleep and we did his sleeping portraits. The kids dad owns the bakery Sweet Lady Jane in Santa Monica, so the family came up with the creative idea to use the cakes as “sweet” props. These cakes were not only beautiful to look at, but I got to sample one after the shoot and it was delicious! What a fun shoot with so many great photos:

“j” is for james
I recently photographed newborn baby James and his family in their beautiful home that had stunning views of the city. James was a darling and easy baby, sleepy and great for posing! We did a variety of setups and backgrounds and it was a really nice getting to know this kind family. We took some darling photos, here are my favorite photos from the shoot:
