Last week we had spring break off from online learning and a time to celebrate Passover and Easter. It was a rainy week and a week that is normally spent traveling and with family for the holidays so this year was definitely different from the past. Here are photos from the past week. There are more photos than usual in this post because there were more days between posts. It has been a roller coaster of emotions but ultimately we are happy and healthy which is all that really matters.
So we are well into the second week of our home isolation and it sure does feel like we are repeating the same day over and over. Don’t get me wrong- we are happy and healthy which is so important right now. But we feel like we are living the movie “Groundhog’s Day”. Every morning we wake up and go for a family walk, do school work, my husband leads PE lessons, they have online learning, reading time, free time, online play dates, soccer lessons— AND repeat. To spice it up, my son wanted his head shaved and my daughter got slime stuck in her hair and decided to cut it out. In the front. To the scalp. *sigh* Here are some photos from the last several days. Nothing special or out of the ordinary, just a way to document our time in quarantine. Stay healthy and safe out there!
It has been awhile since I have been on the blog- it was a really busy fall photographing families for their holiday cards and I had to take a break from blogging for awhile. Now I am back to a normal shoot schedule and I am excited to show you some of the photo sessions I captured. This is a family I have had the pleasure of photographing since their second child was born. They recently had a third and it was an amazing shoot. The kids were so in love with their baby brother and the parents were kind and easy going. All-in-all it was a wonderful session! Here are some favorite moments captured:
Toddlers are so much fun to capture! They are filled with energy for days, a range of expressions and emotions, laughter, tears and everything in-between. These moments are raw and real and I love watching toddlers in action. Mom and Dad wanted photos with their energetic dog too, which made the shoot even more playful. It was fun capturing everyday moments shared in this family that will forever remind them of this time in their lives!
Cake smash photography has become a popular trend for babies turning one year old. All babies react differently to this new sensation- eating sugar, getting messy, and playing with cake. It is fun to watch and I always love to end a cake smash shoot with a bath because most babies LOVE the bath! We started with a family session, sibling photos and candid moments and ended with cake. Happy birthday baby girl!
Maya and Jonah were full of smiles during our session at their home. It started with the kids, then we did family photos and finished with a first birthday cake smash for little Jonah! I had also done Maya’s cake smash when she turned one! We had a great time shooting at home and on a walk down the street. Here are some favorites!
