It has been 3 years since I have posted to my blog and I have really missed this aspect of my work. I find it so challenging to take so many photos I love and then only really use one or two on my website (BeautiesandBabies.com) or instagram page (@BeautiesandBabies). Blogging is a nice way to reflect on the sessions I have done and see all the photos I really enjoyed capturing with the families I work with. Here is a really sweet family I got to work with over the holiday season. They had two precious and smiley girls who made my job incredibly easy. I am crazy about these photos and here are my favorites from the session!
After a bit of a break from blogging, I am back in 2016! I have been so excited about posting pics from this family holiday card shoot I did recently. We started out shooting at their beautiful home and then went for a little stroll in the neighborhood. This couple makes parenthood look easy and so much fun. Many laughs were had by all and I adore all the photos we took. Here are my favorites:
Over the last couple years I have had the pleasure of getting to know this beautiful mom and her sweet little girl and boy. When I was asked to photograph them I was flattered and excited! We did the shoot at La Brea Tar Pits/LACMA which always has so many wonderful location options. It is great for kids so we can keep moving around and they don’t get bored. I adore the photos we took and these are some of my favorites from the shoot:
This was my second shoot with this happy family who had me back to document their newest family member. We did the session in their home which I always love since it adds a personal touch to the photos. The kids were darling and so happy and it was a wonderful shoot. Here are my favorite pictures from the shoot:
Last holiday season (I am still playing catch up on my blog posts) I photographed this sweet family of four for mom’s birthday and their holiday card. It was a quick shoot and it was the first time I had a family in all black and white clothing….great idea! The tent made for a colorful and playful background and we had a really fun shoot. Here they are!
Sweet baby Norah and her parents were in town visiting relatives and asked me to photograph their family at a family member’s home. When I arrived I was blown away by the lush garden greens and flowers blossoming everywhere. It really was a treat to see such an enchanted garden. And Norah was sweet as could be with bright eyes and an easy temperament. It was a joy photographing this loving family and the photos are some of my favorites to date!
With a first birthday around the corner, we took photos of this loving family before the birthday celebration. We held the session at their home and the boys were sweet and silly with loads of smiles. I always love when bubbles and balloons are used as props because they are so fascinating to the little ones and make for some really sweet expressions. Here are my favorite photos from the shoot:
I absolutely love photographing sisters because it brings back so many memories from my childhood. These two beauties were playful, energetic and covered an array of activities to keep themselves entertained. From an outdoor dance party, swings, reading, kitchen play, and artwork to bouncing on the bed and dressing up, we captured the essence of girls being young and full of life. Here are some favorite photos of this precious pair:
Typically newborn sessions are done within the baby’s first 14 days of life. This ensures sleepiness, flexibility so they can go into those tiny tuck poses and also is the window of time before baby acne and dry skin are in full force. Well, although we slightly missed that time window (she was 3 weeks old), Jessie was definitely the exception to that rule and slept like a champ! We did the shoot at her gorgeous home near the beach where mom and dad had amazing props and a perfect setting for the shoot. I adore the photos and loved working with such a sweet little angel!
