Pink, green, blue and neutrals are the tones of the amazing and super soft collection by Paige Lauren Los Angeles. We shot many adorable outfits on lots of precious babies and toddlers to create a colorful and sweet collection of images for promoting their newest line. If you have not had a chance to check out their kids clothing, I highly recommend it. The items are SO soft and stylish and I have been really lucky to work with Paige over the last several years. Here are a handful of favorites from our session!
My amazing friend started a company called Platefit, a unique fitness experience, which is all the rage here in Los Angeles. It is a modern style workout using high intensity interval training done on individual Power Plates. During the holidays she joined my holiday mini session day at UCLA to get family photos taken, and then finished up with a handful of fitness photos for her company. I really love the pictures we took and really admire this strong and motivated mama for starting such an awesome fitness company. She is hard working and has a heart of gold. Here are the pictures we took!
I am so proud of my sister, Lana House, for her hard work and dedication to her Pilates Studio in Pacific Palisades. Lana is the kind of person who practices what she preaches, by living a healthy lifestyle- not only with fitness, but with healthy non-toxic eating and overall wellness. I encourage you to check out her instagram page: @houseoheath to see what I mean. She inspires people to be their best selves every day and is so dedicated to spreading her tips and tricks about health. Lana has a Pilates studio at her home in the heart of the Palisades where she provides a challenging and personalized workout. Her clients are extremely loyal and love her teaching style which is true to the authentic teachings of Joseph Pilates. We recently took photos of her space along with a new headshot. Check it out! I have been working with an amazing baby clothing line called Paige Lauren Baby for the last few years and always look forward to our sessions. Paige is extremely creative with her collection concepts, which always makes for adorable campaign photos. Our most recent shoot was her layette collection, clothing intended for infants. The clothes are soft, adorable and the company is based in Los Angeles. Paige is a mom herself and totally gets the needs and desires of moms and babies. Check out their adorable baby clothes!
If you live in LA, you have to check out Sweet E’s Bake Shop: sweetesbakeshop.com. They make the most beautiful cakes and desserts for all occasions! I have had the pleasure of photographing Erica and her family several times now and she always has the BEST ideas for creative content. So when she was in need of new promotional photos, I jumped at the opportunity! I really love the light and bright quality to these images and the pops of pinks and blues. And look how gorgeous those cakes are!! These photos were captured for her website and instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/sweetesbakeshop/ I am in love with these photos and am so excited to show them off!
During these last few months I have learned so much about myself and I have grown in so many ways since becoming a mom of two. Although it has been challenging beyond words, it has also been so rewarding. I have learned to appreciate the little things in parenthood such as getting two kids down for bed on time or surviving a trip to the grocery store. One aspect of parenthood I have been challenged with during both newborns was breastfeeding. I have a VERY low milk supply and needed help learning how to work with what I have. When my sister introduced me to Linda at My Nursing Coach she was an absolute life saver. My Nursing Coach is a mobile lactation consulting service that comes to you. She is knowledgeable, encouraging, and so thorough in her assistance. She made my nursing experience so much more enjoyable than my first time around. Her mobile service vehicle is fully loaded with the best products and anything you could need. And best of all, you never have to leave your house (a MUST with a newborn baby!) If you are in need of a lactation consultant or are expecting and are not sure how your experience will be, I highly recommend keeping this info on file because you never know when you will need it. Thank you, Linda, for all your support and encouragement during my nursing struggles.

As some of you may remember, my daughter Jaelyn wore a Doc-Band helmet around 6 months old because she had a flat head (click here to view post). This happens sometimes with babies today since they are sleeping on their backs and in time it can create a flat spot on the back of the head. Well, I must have soft-headed babies because Griffin too has a flat head! First I would like to say that in the scheme of life this is SO not a big deal. In fact, at times, having a helmet made my life easier since babies hit their heads when learning to sit up, move, crawl, etc. With that said, I have been in proactive mommy-mode trying to correct and reshape his head to keep him out of a helmet. For those of you out there who are in the same boat, I thought I would share some of my tips because his head is SO much better already and I am almost certain we have self-corrected this problem (wohoo!)
I started noticing the flat side around two months of age. For the next month, I tried to do more tummy time and encourage him to turn his head on the opposite side. When he turned three months, I noticed it had gotten worse and I needed a better solution if we were going to round it back out. I went to the doctor and she suggested positioning him on his side, sandwiched between two 10 pound rice bags. Every nap and night sleep is done on his side (opposite of the flat part). Here are some pictures of my little prince getting the “royal” treatment!
Another tool I have found helpful is a Noggin Nest (great name, right?) It is simply a pillow with a hole cut out of the center so babies are not applying pressure to the back of the head. I use mine in the car seat, swing, bouncer, and when he lays on the floor. It has been really helpful and I am determined to put up a good fight against this flat head situation! This mommy is on a mission….wish me luck, I will let you know how it goes! (noggin nest photos NOT taken by Beauties & Babies)
I recently discovered a company called Rooted for Life, a program that was created by Lori Bregman.
