I completely respect my clients’ privacy which is why I always ask before using their photos online (blog, social media, etc). This family was fine for me to show a small sample of what we captured and I admire and respect that decision. I am always grateful to be able to show off my work and the amazing families I get to work with. Here are a few photos from this precious newborn session!
I absolutely love when families want to do something a little creative with their session. This mom sent me a photo from her oldest daughter’s first birthday shoot that they had done in the past and wanted something different but equally sweet and creative. So we came up with a few ideas to try at the session! We focused mostly on the 1st birthday girl but let mom and big sis jump into a few photos too. I love the fun-loving nature of these photos and seeing curiosity and joy through the eyes of a toddler. Here are my favorites!
Summer is by far my favorite season of the year. Life slows down a bit, the sun is shining and the days are long, we spend lots of time together as a family and as a mom I am more laid back. During this time I have tried to bring out my camera from time to time to capture these sweet times. Below are photos I took of my kids for 4th of July, my son eating an icee, and the kids playing on a slip n’ slide. These photos freeze time for me as a mom and I love catching it on camera.
I really love doing photo sessions outdoors when the sun is shining. For me, I love the bright, warm energy that sunny photos produce. There is a light quality with sunny days that I really love with family photos. These photos were captured on one of those sunny days at a local park. It was a great setting for the session so the boys could run and play, and enjoy the fountain with fish ducks and turtles, giving lots of opportunities to capture candid moments. Here are my selects from this bright sunny mini session!
This precious girl was 8 months old for her photo shoot. We did the photos at her home, first outdoors and then inside. It was really fun watching her range of expressions. It is a really fun age when babies are crawling, sitting up and exploring the world around them. I love the mustard yellow outfit and matching bow….so adorable! It was a wonderful morning getting to know this awesome family and I love the photos we captured. Here are my favorites!
I feel as though I have grown up with this family. I have had the pleasure of capturing their crew since their first born was a toddler and have watched their family grow ever since. I have watched their bonds grow, their personalities shine, it is really something special to be a part of capturing pictures within their family unit. Their youngest was such a personality, full of energy and expression! She keeps them on their toes, in the most wonderful way. Their son has always been a bit more reserved but with a kind nature and maturity beyond his years. Their eldest daughter loves to laugh and play but with poise and grace. I feel so fortunate to make such special connections with families over the years!
I recently had another wonderful shoot with Sol Angeles for their summer kids line. If you are not familiar with Sol Angeles Clothing Line, you have to check out their clothes- cozy, stylish and really comfortable to wear. It is always really fun for me to do these more commercial style shoots since it takes me back to my roots. I love the production element of it and with kids, always comes a little crazy which makes it exciting! The kids take turns taking pictures in the various clothing items and we strive to capture a little play, a little still and a touch of wild fun. Here are my personal favorites from our latest session, I am so lucky to get to do this kind of work!
In the last month I have taken a handful of personal photos that I wanted to share. First, I brought my camera to the Mother’s Day celebration with my family. It has been 6 months since the birth of my niece and we had not yet captured a photo of the six grandkids/cousins together so I thought it would be great to try. We did a photo with just the kids and one with my mom. The next photo session I did was for my husband’s birthday. I do not capture photos of him nearly as often as I should and thought I should try to capture this special time in his life. The last day I had my camera was Father’s Day. I brought it with both sides of our family to capture and document these times in our lives.
I met this darling family at their home to capture photos of their sweet little boys. The primary focus was on the baby to get some sweet new photos of him alone. We also captured a couple with mom and big brother, just because they were too cute to pass up! The baby was about 2 1/2 months old when we did pictures, so we captured a mix of sleepy baby photos and awake. There are so many wonderful ages to capture in the baby days, this was great because he was still so new but we were able to see some personality shine through! And that little tux onesie was just the cutest thing ever!!!
Toddlers are so much fun to capture! They are filled with energy for days, a range of expressions and emotions, laughter, tears and everything in-between. These moments are raw and real and I love watching toddlers in action. Mom and Dad wanted photos with their energetic dog too, which made the shoot even more playful. It was fun capturing everyday moments shared in this family that will forever remind them of this time in their lives!
